As a fan of the Vigilante 8 series I have to say that I’m really excited for this game.  I always felt it was better and more advanced than the Twisted Metal series.  Vigilante 8: Arcade adds online play, new levels, voice chat, and more.  We can clearly see some old weapons and levels in the screenshots so you can look forward to reliving your favorite Vigilante 8 moments in HD.  Vigilante 8: Arcade is currently an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive (as you may have guessed by the name) that I’ll be downloading the day it’s released.  Check out more details at the official site by clicking here.

(Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today the next installment in the classic vehicular-combat franchise Vigilante 8®, Vigilante 8: Arcade for Xbox LIVE Arcade. Licensed and developed by Isopod Labs, Vigilante 8: Arcade is an all new remake of the original game, featuring online play with up to eight players and a host of new content, taking full advantage of next-generation technologies.

The title is scheduled for release via download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 this spring and has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

Been so long since I even touched that game.

I played Vigilante 8 on PS1 and it was good but I still preferred Twisted Metal 2. I’m just not very interested in the genre right now though.

Well the one I spent the most time with was the N64 sequel, so I’m sure that was much improved from the one you played.  You should at least try the demo (if you get interested in the genre again).

This was one of my favourite N64 games. A shame I don’t have an XBox.

i played both the original and the sequel for ps1 and loved them both. i’ll definitely be downloading this when it comes out. (given i have xbox live by then :( ) playing online would make this game really awesome
